Sardinha says he will ‘follow up’ issue of stranded seafarers #IndiaNEWS #Goa News
Margao: South Goa Member of Parliament (MP) Francisco Sardinha, on Wednesday, said he had spoken to the Union Minister for External Affairs on the issue of bringing the stranded Goan seafarers back and he was assured that once the lockdown is withdrawn these Goans would be brought back to Goa.
Speaking to this daily over a phone, the MP said that he
will follow up the issue with the minister concerned since it is the duty of the Indian government to airlift these Goans
stranded across the world.
He further opined that it is foolish decision on the part
of the state government to send teachers to conduct the house-to-house health survey.
“Instead, the government should follow the
Bhilwara- Rajasthan model,
where team of doctors checked the people house-to-house in view of the COVID 19 cases. The people here will not give the
information required and hence the whole
exercise will be a waste of time and
energy, he added.
