More than 40 artists invited to participate in the prestigious Kochi-Muziris Biennale on Friday issued an open letter expressing “concern and shock??? about decision to reschedule the event by over a week and called for the organisers to pay closer attention in future editions to what they say was inadequate infrastructure, opaque financial planning and poor communication by the organisers. The night before the event was due to be inaugurated on December 12, the organisers announced that it was being postponed. It opened to the public on December 23.On their part, the organisers said that managing the event has been a complex process.“It has been very challenging on several fronts, some in our control and some out of our control,??? director Bose Krishnamachari told Scroll.in. “We are funded and audited by several entities and adhere to the highest standards.
