What is Nitric Oxide?

Nitric Oxide is a 2 molecule gas produced by our own cells which lines the blood vessels. Research studies show that it relaxes blood vessels, and opens airways of lungs.
Researchers suggest that using Nitric Oxide nasal sprays and gargles prevent covid19 infection in the first place, and is an effective low cost medicine for those who have already contracted corona infection.

National Research Council has granted a grant of dollar 400,000 to SaNOtize Research for conducting research using Nitric Oxide on patients who are either highly infected, and also on those showing mild symptoms of corona (covid19) infection.

Where are trials and researches going on?

Trial, which started in British Columbia, is being expanded to participants in Quebec from June 1 onwards, with expectations of an Ontario-based study in the coming future.

According to Chris Miller, SaNOtize Chief Scientific Officer, it might still take 3-4 months before research and regulatory permissions can be completed and Nitric Oxide can be officially used as a cure for corona covid19 infected patients.

Although primary purpose of Nitric Oxide in our body is to line blood vessels and open airways of lungs so that more oxygen can be absorbed, but researchers have found that it also has anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties, which makes it extremely suitable for treatement of corona.

The nasal spray produced by SaNOtize disinfected the upper airway of patients who were infected by SARS-covi-2 covid19 corona virus, and also killed 99.9% of the virus within 2 minutes of using the nasal spray.

With no other effective treatement available for covid19, researchers all around the world are now looking towards this naturally present molecule of Nitric Oxide as the solution of corona covid19.
Nitric Oxide gas, the medicine was discovered in 1980s, and is already an approved medicine for use on children and babies who have breathing difficulties, and is also used in some cardiac procedures.

How Nitric Oxide was discovered as treatement in Covid19?

Its effective against corona was first realized in Stanford health care by Doctor Zamanian, who gave small doses of Nitric Oxide gas to a female patient who had cardiac troubles, but had also contracted corona infection.
Over a course of 11 days, the patient improved and did not needed hospital care.

Another study is being conducted in Canada at University Health Network with higher doses of Nitric Oxide to confirm the effectiveness of the medicine in covid19 cases.

Scientists of Boston and Louisiana have also started using the gas to treat covid19 patients, although results of their research are still awaited.

What are side effects of using Nitric Oxide on corona patients?

Researchers say that because Nitric Oxide is a naturally produced gas in our body, so its side effects in higher dosage will be minimal if any, and more data on this can be provided before the expected second wave of corona hits the world.
