Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee on Thursday claimed that Bharatiya Janata Party leaders were “queuing up??? to join the Trinamool Congress, PTI reported. “We have kept the doors closed,??? he said while addressing a poll rally in Murshidabad district’s Samserganj. “If the doors are opened, the BJP will surely collapse.???Bye-elections for two Assembly seats in Murshidabad – Samserganj and Jangipur – will be held on September 30. Banerjee’s comment came days after former Union minister Babul Supriyo joined the Trinamool Congress, less than two months after quitting the BJP.
