Vivo unveils new V1 professional imaging chip #IndiaNEWS #Gadget
The Chinese technology company, Vivo, has unveiled a new V1 professional imaging chip. The unveiling was officially announced on Monday, September 6, in a technology-sharing meeting.

Vivo Communication Technology Co. Ltd. is a Chinese technology company that has it headquarter in Dongguan, Guangdong, designs and develops smartphones, smartphone accessories, software, and online services.

The new V1 professional imaging chip is different from CPU and DSP general-purpose or semi-universal arithmetic processors. When processing certain tasks, it has the qualities of high performance, low latency, and low power consumption.

V1 is comparable in terms of energy efficiency when faced with a high number of complex activities. It outperforms DSP and CPU by a factor of ten.

Comparing the new V1 to the flagship PC processors 16 to 24 megabytes, the chip exceeds it with a large cache equivalent to 32 megabytes in terms of performance.

The professional imaging chip is the first independent research and development carried out by over 300 researchers and completed in 2year.

The company, while explaining the need for the development of its independent imaging chip, maintained that: computing power is a new bottleneck restricting the development of mobile phone imaging. People are now putting forward higher and higher requirements for image resolution and screen rendering effects.

Todays mobile phone imaging systems are already a little weak. Vivo believes that in the face of the huge computing power gap, customized chips and high-speed processing optimization algorithms are a new trend for mobile imaging breakthroughs. The company added.
