Hyderabad: Well-known social activist Rajwant Singh Gulati was found dead in his house in Alwal here on Tuesday evening. He was 74.
According to the police, Gulati, a resident of Ramnagar in Alwal, lived with his family. On Tuesday evening, he was found dead in a room in the house by his family members. On information, the police reached the spot and found blood stains on the floor and his clothes.
The body was shifted to the mortuary and an autopsy was performed, police said, adding that the actual cause of the death would be known once the autopsy report came.
Initial doubts are that he could have suffered a cardiac arrest while the blood could have come when he fell off the bed. However, this could be confirmed once the autopsy report came, police said.
A case under Section 174 of CrPC was registered and investigation is on. Gulati, a member of the Punjabi Welfare Association, was the president of Gurudwara Saheb Alwal and a known figure in the community. He was also connected to various social activities, including improving facilities and services at the Alwal crematorium and others in the city.
